Penedès, count on us

When you think about your next trip, count on us

Penedès is a small area, but full of stories and experiences. Wines and gastronomy, nature and vineyards, leisure, sports, markets and festivals, but especially people, are what make this land great and authentic.

The Invisibles are those people we don't usually see, who work behind the scenes so that all those people who live and visit Penedès have a pleasant, memorable experience. In the end, it is the people who make our home so special.

We find the authentic Penedès where we don't usually look. It is the people who will guide you to discover the most secret corners. The ones that will wake up your senses. The ones that cook the flavors and aromas of a land full of stories. They will make you regret not having come before. Now is the time to get to know the Invisibles, so that when you come you can look for them. It would be unforgivable not to find them.

Penedès, count on us.

Josep Esteve
Farmer

Peaches from the Ordal area in Penedès are such a pleasant surprise when someone discovers them (Cal Xim's peach tatin is a delight). Farming is always crazy, you never know if that year the weather is going to be in your favor. One thing is for sure: you must work hard to achieve a good quality. Thanks for the music and theater, which helps Josep relax a little bit!

Fausto Navales
Fisherman

A former DJ in Vilanova i Sitges in the early 80's, he has been fishing for sardines and anchovies for over 40 years. Now, if you let him choose, he likes prawns the most. The Beatles and Queen, their favorites in the music world. His son is taking over the business.

Carmina Admella
Vinseum restorer

The restoration and conservation of cultural property was not part of her life plans. A graduate in Fine Arts, at the end of her career she took a liking at her work at Vinseum since 2006.
Her curiosity makes her enjoy both contemporary and Egyptian art. The same thing with wines, she always wants to taste different things. The upper north part of Penedès, wth hills and forrest is her favourite area.

Adrià Creixell
Guide of nature

Cycling, climbing, Nordic walking… He has made of his hobby his full-time profession. If you want to know natural hidden gems in the Penedès, he will guide you. As a child, if his parents could not find him in the streets of Sant Quintí de Mediona, they knew for sure that they would find him in Les Deus, his favorite place in Penedès.
Occasional musician, reggae and funky are the styles he combines with punk music he used to listen as a young man. If you want to invite him over, you will make him happy with a good paella and a white wine from Can Feixes.

Salvador Queraltó
Sheperd

Salvador is a sheperd, just like his grandfather and then his father. He says he never plans to retire because the job he does feels like he is already retired.  An avid hunter, he likes to hang out with friends for a long, sat down, full breakfast and chat it out. If you want good meat, just go to the butcher shop his family owns in Vilafranca.

Florence Lemieux
Tourist guide and sommelier

Florence is from Quebec, very proud of her origins, but super happy to be with us. After a holiday for love, she fell in love with Catalonia. The world of wine comes from his maternal influences, and she had no doubts when he decided to try his luck at Pares Baltà, where he works as a sommelier. She will make you discover things about wine that you would never have thought of. She likes to go for a walk and the French classics.

Santi Martín
Farmer

After working as a bricklayer for many years, he now takes care of his vegetable garden in Sant Quintí de Mediona with a great deal of passion and no less dedication. His tomatoes are sublime, just like lettuces and green beans, all grown with great wisdom ... and what years of experience give.

Carles Herrero
Ex pro mountainbiker, now rooster farmer

He exudes enthusiasm. He claims that pro cycling has made him the entrepreneur he is taoday. He studies in detail the food diet of his poultry, as he is obsessed with quality. His farm is like a small resort for his animals, where they live as "Maharajas" for many months. From Andalusia to London, from Paris and of course Barcelona, his roosters are used in the kitchens of the best chefs of the stars. And if you want, you can also buy a piece and cook it home.

Salvador Alonso
Boteria Torner

The Torner family, who have been working as barrel makers since 1739, trained Salvador in the art of assembling barrels when he was only 16 years old. Meticulous, the level of toast of his barrels is always customized. His dog Fibi goes with him in his walks through vineyard trails and sometimes it also goes to work with him on Saturdays. His favorite wine is a xarel.lo, obviously, aged in barrel.

Oscar Rodríguez
Cook

With effort and dedication, he started cooking from the bottom as a helper in the kitchen of the notorious restaurant Avi Pau. Today, he works in Cal Blay group. The beach and being with his family and friends are his favourite things. He is a born fighter (black belt in Taikwondo), fond of boxing and wrestling. He prefers beer to wine, unusual in the area, and he prefers rock better than pop. Extremoduro and AC/DC are his favourites.

Fèlix Mach
Multifaceted

A great fan of cycling, he used a time of economic crisis (which left him unemployed) to turn his passion into his profession. So now you can stop for a cup of coffee and a chat in his Café-Workshop, where he rents and fixes bikes. He will be happy to tell you everything about Penedès. He plays the saxophone with Derrumband and he has recorded several albums with them. President of the Coordinadora de Diables de Catalunya, if you cannot find him, he is probably cycling the roads leading to el Castellot.

Joan Vendrell
Winemaker and Technical Engineer in Agriculture

As a child, he just learned about the world of wine from his uncle, so when he grew up, he decided that was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. Now it's Jordi and Ramon's right hand man at Celler Pardas. A graduate of the URV in winemaking, he enjoys climbing and hiking. Music is his other great passion: right now he is immersed in the Chuck Berry universe.

Marta Soler
Bartender and Political Science Graduate

You will not find in Penedès a more cultivated waitress than Marta. A graduate in Political Science, this native of Vilafranca is a geek of the world wars. She is crazy about our most famous local products, such as peaches, black rooster and lamb chops from Moja. So much so that she is determined to make her own urban garden. Walking through the vineyards and approaching the gorges are his favorite pleasures.
